- Traditionally this is a pretty quiet time of year for most of us. Well not here at Games Workshop. While everyone has been relaxing the Clan leaders of the Under-Empire have been plotting, scheming and building new abominations to send forth and carry out their nefarious schemes. Yes that's right, from today you can advance order the stunning new Skaven models. All of the products below are available now for advance order and will ship out in time to land on your door step for the launch on January the 15th.
First up is the twisted, mutated and powerful Hell Pit Abomination. This is the largest Skaven plastic model we have ever produced and will make a great centre-piece for any Skaven force no matter how large or small. With a variety of different arms, claws, rats and upgrades you really can build the abomination that you want and don't forget to get some rat swarms just in case you roll 'The Rats Emerge' when your Abomination dies. Reading January's White Dwarf, having one abomination is OK but having two is particularly devastating and you can fit them in a 2,000pt army. The second plastic kit going on advance order today makes either the devastating Warp Lightning Cannon or the equally destructive Plagueclaw Catapult. The Plagueclaw Catapult uses the large round template and inflicts strength 2 hits with no armour save, which is perfect for taking out large number of infantry. The Warp Lightning cannon also allows no armour saves and each wounding hit causes D6 wounds - so watch out Ogres and other multi-wound models.

- On top of the two amazingly detailed metal characters we also have two brand new metal weapons teams for you. The whirling bladed ball of Doom Flayer Team could only be built by the Skaven and causes an artillery dice worth of strength 4 hits on any unit contacted - ouch. The Warp-grinder Weapons Team is a little subtler and can be added to Night Runner or Gutter Runner unit, allowing them to enter the table at a nominated point during the game as well as adding D3 strength 4 hits in each Close Combat phase; ideal for swinging the battle in your favour at the critical moment.

- As well as the models we have a couple of other new products to help in your domination of the Warhammer World. First up is Warhammer Battle Magic: Skaven which contains cards for all 13 of the Skaven spells, just what you need to keep track of your spells in the heat of battle. Remember like all the other magic cards they are While Stocks Last so once we have sold them all they are gone for good. Perhaps my favourite of all the advance orders today is Uniforms and Heraldry of the Skaven. This 72-page hardback book is packed full of history, background and artwork for all the Skaven Clans and units, whether you have a Skaven army or not this book will prove invaluable for its insight into the Skaven race and is a must have for any Warhammer collector

- The Skaven of Clan Moulder will regularly create new and terrifying creatures to unleash upon the world, but none quite as depraved and horrific as the Hell Pit Abomination. A writhing mass of muscle, bone and mechanical components, the Hell Pit Abomination is a living mountain of misshapen flesh that towers over the battlefield below ready to crush, tear and devour anything in its path.
This kit contains 78 parts to make and personalise your own Hell Pit Abomination. There are several variations for limbs, including a mechanical Clan Skryre limb, a plague censor and a giant grasping claw. The kit also contains a couple of optional jaws with either giant tusks or a warpstone drill. And, of course, no Hell Pit Abomination would be complete without a selection of Skaven and Rat Ogre heads for you to graft on to the body to make it even more horrific. There are even a dozen tiny rats to place around it, on it or in it as they accompany the Hell Pit Abomination to war. We are pretty certain that no two Abominations will look the same with this number of components at your disposal

- The Warp Lightning Cannon is a weapon of pure destruction. Created by the Warlock Engineers of Clan Skryre, it has the power to tear apart units and monsters with ease. While Clan Skryre perfects the art of firing incandescent balls of warp lightning, the Plague Monks of Clan Pestilens are busy launching toxic sludge from their Plagueclaw Catapults, which brings long-range death to the arsenal of the combat-oriented Plague Monks. Armour offers no protection to those hit by the deadly payload of the Plagueclaw catapult as it will eat through metal, skin and bone without discrimination.
This 51-piece kit can be used to build either a Warp Lightning Cannon or a Plagueclaw Catapult. It includes a large chunk of warpstone, several wheels of varying size and stability, rickety wooden beams for the infrastructure, a large warp lightning cannon barrel, a pile of toxic sludge and two sets of crew to represent either Clan Skryre or Clan Pestilens.

- Perhaps the greatest Warlock Engineer of all time, Ikit Ckaw marches into battle clad in a mighty Iron Frame that grants him exceptional strength and durability. Armed with the ferocious Storm Daemon, Ikit Claw can summon bolts of dark lightning as easily as he can cleave through armour, and if that doesn't work he has a Warpfire Thrower built into his armour in case of emergencies. Ikit Ckaw is a superb Lord choice for a Skaven army

- The undisputed master of back-stabbing, sneaking and running away, Tretch Craventail has made an artform of escaping from danger and embodies the Skaven discipline of Verminous Valour. Armed with a healthy collection of blades and protected by his Lucky Skullhelm, Tretch is a dangerous and wily Hero choice for a Skaven army

- The Doom-Flayer is a motorised ball of whirling blades powered by warpstone and steered by two Skaven hell-bent on destruction. While it lacks the range of the other Skaven weapon Teams, the Doom-Flayer more than makes up for it by slicing, tearing and shredding the enemy in close combat before running them over just to make sure they are dead. The Doom-Flayer is an upgrade to a Skaven Clanrat or Stormvermin unit.

- Skaven like nothing more than tunnelling (except back-stabbing), and they will often field Warp-Grinder Weapon Teams to ensure that tunnels are dug efficiently and on time. A Warp-Grinder can be used by Night Runners and Gutter Runners to burrow beneath the enemy, emerging behind them during the battle and creating widespread panic and confusion. The Warp-Grinder can even be used in close combat where the warpstone drill head can be ploughed through flesh instead of rock.
