Orcs & Goblins Arachnarok SpiderIn the darkest depths of the most sinister forests, even Giants and Cygors can fall prey to the colossal Arachnarok Spider. Towering over houses and settlements alike, this gargantuan creature can be goaded into battle by Forest Goblins who worship it as a living god. Bedecked with shanty towers, altars to the Spider-god or even crude catapults, the Arachnarok Spider will terrorise the Warhammer world.

This 95-piece, all-plastic kit comes complete with all the options available to make your Arachnarok Spider truly unique, including a Flinger and a Catchweb Spidershrine. There are also eight Forest Goblin crew for the howdah, many tiny spiders to adorn the base and a Goblin Great Shaman if you choose to use the Arachnarok Spider as a monstrous mount.

This kit contains one Arachnarok Spider and one 100mm by 150mm base.

Savage OrcsSavage Orcs believe in 'da old wayz' and have barely evolved since Orc tribes first started to roam the Old World. As a result they have remained as brutal, primitive creatures that believe in the merits of a sharp wooden spear over the more sophisticated weapons of other Orcs. In battle a mob of Savage Orcs is a disturbing sight indeed, with warpaint, tribal tattoos and animal pelts all clashing in a riot of colour that is entirely unnerving to their enemies. When the time comes to fight these beasts in combat there is little that can stand in the way of their frenzied barbarism.

This set will make 10 Savage Orcs with several different weapon options, including spears, shields, bows and a selection of brutal-looking hand weapons. There is also a really huge spear should you choose to equip your Savage Orcs with a Big Stabba. To make sure you never run out of options, this kit has 114 components for you to build your unit exactly how you want it.

This multi-part plastic kit contains 10 Savage Orcs, 10 25mm Square Bases and one 25mm by 50mm Closed Cavalry Base (for the Big Stabba team).

Savage Orc Boar BoyzBoars and Savage Orcs get on well, as they share an identical worldview and remarkably similar personal hygiene habits. Savage Orc Boar Boys are formidable troops that combine the fury of a Savage Orc with the thumping momentum and huge tusks of a boar. This makes for an especially hard-hitting charge that has been known to break through tough opposition or collapse enemy lines altogether. To stand in front of such a charge is to invite a painful, though mercifully swift, death.

Each box contains 95 components to build your Savage Orc Boar Boyz, including the options for a standard bearer, musician and Savage Orc Boss.

Savage Orc Great Shaman on War BoarOf all the Orc Shamans, the Savage Orc variety are truly the most insane, spending the majority of their free time waving feathers, rattling bones and dancing around the campfire. This is generally tolerated by the rest of the tribe. As a Savage Orc Shaman will apply the warpaint used to protect them in battle, which is valuable resource to the otherwise naked Savage Orcs. In battle a Savage Orc Shaman will often ride into battle alongside his tribe, whooping, hollering and yelling to his heart's content. The enemy are rarely as enthusiastic about his presence however, as they are normally exploding, burning or being squashed to death by the Shaman's unusual, though always deadly, magical powers.

Wurrzag Ud Ura Zahubu, also known as Da Great Green Prophet is a Savage Orc Shaman of mighty mystical powers. Wurrzag leads tribes to greatness before wandering off to pursue yet another mad plan to advance Orcish kind. Like all Orc Shamans Wurrzag is completely crazy, though what he lacks in sanity he more than makes up for with vision and inspiration. It is widely believed that an army with Wurrzag in it has never been defeated in battle.

Goblins are always seeking some new kind of dirty trick, be it a chance to sneak attack a foe, or gang up on a crippled enemy. Some Goblins excel at darting forward and stabbing at an enemy's soft spots before slinking away. Such devious gobbos are known as Nasty Skulkers and are generally thought to be 'a bad piece o' work' even by shifty Goblin standards.

Arachnarok-aphobia!

Citação :
There's been so much excitement surrounding the Arachnarok Spider over the last two days that we just had to find out more about it. Here in the web office we've only just got our hands on the kit and we're far too busy drooling over the sprues to talk coherently. So we invited Simon Grant from the White Dwarf team to come and tell you more about this gigantic eight-legged beast.

Simon: The Arachnarok Spider is the largest and most formidable breed of Spider to be found in any of the dark forests of the Warhammer world. Ancient and foul creatures, the oldest of their kind can grow to be as large as a barn. These monstrosities have long been worshipped by the Forest Goblins of the Spider-kult, who appease and venerate them as avatars of the Spider-god. So accustomed are these behemoths now to the presence of their fanatical worshippers that they allow the Forest Goblins to fashion howdahs atop their broad abdomens and ride them to battle, where their strength and terrifying presence can destroy or scatter whole armies.

On their own, Arachnarok Spiders are powerful indeed, able to withstand enormous punishment and capable of inflicting untold ruin, but their crude howdahs can be further modified to suit other purposes as well. The Forest Goblin crew regularly build primitive launchers, called Flingers, that they fire from their spider's back, covering their enemies in masses of sticky webs. Powerful Forest Goblin Shamans sometimes build magical shrines, harnessing the energy of the Spider-god from atop their symbolic and sacred mounts.

On the Tabletop
Arachnarok Spiders are utterly devastating on the battlefield. Not only do they fight with 8 Poisoned Attacks at Strength 5, but the eight Forest Goblins can also get stuck in from the howdah on its back... and then it can Thunderstomp! That alone is enough to break the back of most regiments, but when you consider that it also has 8 Wounds, Toughness 6 and a 4+ armour save, it has some serious staying power too. Being a (particularly large and gribbly) spider, it has a Movement of 7 and the Obstacle Strider, Forest Strider, Wall-crawler and Swiftstrider special rules, making it as fast as most heavy cavalry, but infinitely more deadly.

Use your Arachnarok Spiders to:
Outflank the Enemy: Their combination of speed and ability to easily traverse terrain makes an Arachnarok Spider far more than just a blunt weapon to hurl at the enemy. It's true that such a powerful monster can overwhelm most regiments on its own, but why fight fair when you can flank them and fight dirty instead? It's what a Goblin would do.

Hunt Enemy Monsters: With a multitude of Poisoned Attacks and the Immune to Psychology special rule, an Arachnarok Spider makes an exceptional monster hunter. And if that's not enough, the Venom Surge rule means that one of its attacks can cause D6 wounds - easily enough to down the hardiest of creatures. There are very few models in the game that can fight such a powerful creature and survive, so why let them? And just think of the bragging rights you'll earn if you manage to strike the finishing blow with one of your Goblin crew.

Carry your Goblin Great Shaman: An Arachnarok Spider can be taken as a mount for a Goblin Great Shaman. Not only does this unlock access to the Catchweb Spidershrine (and the Loremaster special rule for your Great Shaman), but provides great protection for your fragile spell caster by virtue of deterring your enemy from attacking him and consequently engaging his fearsome mount.

Watch out for:
Cannons: It may sound obvious, but a cannonball will cause your pride and joy no end of grief. If you face enemy cannons in battle, try to cling to the terrain as best as possible, taking advantage of your ability to easily traverse such awkward ground. If the worst comes to the worst and your enemy has a clear shot, just be grateful that your spider starts the game with so many Wounds.

Powerful Characters: On paper, an Arachnarok Spider can dish out a world of pain, but if you face an enemy character with a really good armour save, your model's Strength of 5 may not be enough to cause them much trouble. Some powerful characters can also hit really hard, or worse, cause Multiple Wounds. Such heroes will see off your spider in short order if you're too reckless with your choice of targets. Your spider is certainly tough, but remember that it's far from invincible.
